Women’s Double Header Weekend

It was a double header for the Women on Sunday.

First up, an away match for the Chargers in the I’Anson Div 1, where despite a loss, the team played some great cricket and did the Club proud playing as a tight knit team with passion and integrity. 

At home, the Strikers hosted Pirbright for a friendly at home, where the sun made an appearance and the cricket was down to the wire!

The Strikers lost the toss and Pirbright chose to field. Putting all the coaching into practice, the Strikers placed some lovely shots, ran some cheeky singles and brave 2s. Ending their innings on 278/3. After a quick squash break, the Strikers went into field. The Pirbright batters played well and kept the Strikers on their toes, while chasing down the runs.

With just a few runs in it going into the last over, one wicket fell to make it a real nail-biter. Despite the Strikers best efforts, Pirbright batted confidently to take the win 280/2. Congrats on the win Pirbright! It was a great match, played in the true spirit of the game – so lovely to host you and share a post-match glass of fizz and a scone!  

The Strikers are in action Tuesday evening, playing Chiddingfold Rubies in an I’Anson Div 2 match. And this Sunday is another double header, with the Chargers playing Chiddingfold Emeralds at Lurgashall, while the Strikers head to Pirbright to play them in the I’Anson Div 2.
