Strikers & Raiders in action

The Strikers and Raiders were both in action on Sunday. The Strikers hosted an I'Anson Div 2 match against Peper Harow, and the Raiders were away to Pirbright for an I'Anson Hardball match.

Strikers in sparkling form

With Brit captaining, the Strikers hosted Peper Harrow in a Div 2 I'Anson match, with Peper Harow winning the toss and electing to bat.

With bowling duties shared across the team, runs were being scored - and wickets were falling, with wickets taken by Bee, Cady, Trace, Nicky T and Amy! With Grayshott taking 6 wickets, Peper Harow finished on 304.

With a target of 305, Grayshott strode into bat - in our first pair, Kate J scored her first and second boundaries! The boundaries then kept coming, and with Grayshott only losing one wicket, the Strikers took the win, finishing on 318 - congrats Strikers!

Raiders fought hard

The Raiders headed to Pirbright to continue their first season of hardball, with Nikkie TB not only making her hardball debut, but also her wicketkeeping debut!

The Raiders won the toss and elected to field.

In an epic start to the match, in the 5th over, Soph bowled a 3-wicket maiden over!!! Helped by a catch from debut keeper Nikkie.

The fielding and bowling continued in style, with Pirbright all out for 84.

The Raiders then took up the bat with a target of 85. It was a great battle, a real nailbiter as runs were scored and wickets fell. Pirbright worked hard in the field to take the win, bowling the Raiders out for 70.

A fantastic afternoon of women's cricket all round, great to see players making their debut, getting their first boundaries, bowling their first wickets and having a fabulous time!
