The Chargers and Strikers were in action on Sunday afternoon, with the Chargers away to Grayswood and the Strikers hosting Liphook.
Strikers Debuts and Boundaries!
The Strikers put in a great team performance in a fun game against Liphook.
Liphook chose to bat first while waiting for a couple of team mates who were on parent duty at their children's cricket matches. They got off to a solid start with 23 runs from their first pair, before two great batting performances of 36 and 33 helped them set a big target of 346.
The Strikers, including Liffy in debut and Kirsty making her captaincy debut, gave it everything and finished on an impressive 314. A brilliant spell from Nicky Tomlins saw her score 29 runs, including a huge six. 🙌
There were lots of great moments in the field too. First-time player Liffy had an amazing game with some great bowling and a fantastic catch. Amy and Cat both took wickets, while Nikkie TB was brilliant behind the stumps with her safe hands as wicketkeeper and even picked up a wicket herself.
Well done to Kate for bravely bowling her second ever over, and hitting a four when batting. And a special mention to Whelps, whose spectacular slide into her crease to avoid a wicket was definitely one of the highlights of the match! (need to get that on video next time!)
Team captain Kirsty was last seen disappearing into the brambles to rescue the match ball! Come back Kirstles, we need you!
To score over 300 runs without losing a wicket was a fantastic effort, and the Strikers should all be proud of a fantastic effort. Big thank you to Mr Heath for his umpiring duty 😁
Chargers Convincing Win
Under the captaincy of Cath, the Chargers popped to Grayswood for a sunny afternoon match. Some highlights?
Bee - taking a super wicket
Becca - superb fielding
Lou - catchy catcherson...3 from behind the stumps?!
Pasty - offside batting star
Katherine - super bowling
Soph - demon fielding
Kimberley - batting dream
Cath - batting with two 6️⃣
Chargers finished on 305 to win the match. Great teamwork all round. Congrats Chargers - and thank you to Mr Weekes and Mr Edwards for officiating. 😁
