U8 Tigers & Lions continue their development

Sunday 9th August was a busy day for our U8 coaching group as both the Tigers and Lions played in local tournaments.

Our U8 Tigers took part in a U8/U9 tournament at Churt the Tigers went unbeaten through their group games to book their place in the Festival Final. Despite a spirited performance, we came up just short against some quality opposition.

An excellent result to finish runners-up in a tournament of eight teams, especially against older players. The boys really relished the quick-format games and showed great energy, enthusiasm and team spirit throughout the day.

Our U8 Lions were not far away at the BOSC in a set of friendlies against two sides from Headley and one from Guildford, lasting over six hours!

The Lions were highly competitive against under 9 teams. Losing by a very small margin, including one that came down to the final ball. Whilst boundaries were difficult, the Lions fought hard to earn their runs with rapid running between the wickets, and continued to excel with the ball.
