U11 Jaguars celebrate another outstanding season

It’s been another fantastic year for the U11 Jaguars, with the girls’ section continuing to thrive both on and off the pitch. Around 50 girls are now registered with the team, with more than 25 regularly attending Friday evening training throughout the season, a wonderful reflection of the enthusiasm for girls’ cricket at the club.

The Jaguars have enjoyed another successful campaign, combining strong performances with continued development and opportunities to try new challenges.

One of the season’s standout achievements was finishing second in the Girls Under 11 Smash IT South West 2026 League, a fantastic result for the squad.

The girls also made it a third consecutive year of success in the Hampshire Junior Cricket Championship, successfully defending their title in the Brian King Cup Division D. Winning the competition for the third year running is a remarkable achievement and testament to the commitment and progress of the players.

Expanding into hardball

The Jaguars’ season didn’t end with the close of the regular softball programme. During July and August, the club extended opportunities for the girls with dedicated hardball net sessions.

More than 10 girls took part, with the additional sessions giving players the chance to develop their skills and experience a different format of the game. The programme also included three hardball friendly fixtures, providing valuable match experience, and for some players, their very first taste of hardball cricket.

These opportunities are an important step in supporting the girls’ development, allowing them to build confidence, learn new skills and explore different ways to enjoy the game.

Looking ahead to 2027

With numbers continuing to grow and enthusiasm for both formats clear, the club is now looking ahead to an exciting 2027 season.

The aim is to run both softball and hardball teams, building on the progress made this summer and giving even more girls the opportunity to play, develop and challenge themselves.

With a strong group of players, impressive results and growing interest in hardball, the U11 Jaguars have plenty to celebrate, and an exciting future ahead at Grayshott Cricket Club.
