Grayshott Lions: A Season of Progress, Teamwork and Fun
This season marked an exciting milestone for the Grayshott Lions, as our young players took their first steps into competitive cricket against other clubs.
The progress made by every player throughout the year has been fantastic to see, with a brilliant blend of boys and girls making up the team, typically with girls representing around 50% of the side.
Bowling proved to be a real strength, regularly restricting opposition teams to low scores and earning praise from opposition coaches. Highlights included a superb clean bowled from Morven against Grayswood, drawing comparisons with Hampshire’s own Lauren Bell, and several dramatic final-ball wickets!
There was also a memorable turnaround against Churt, bouncing back from defeat the previous week with a 100-run swing in the result as the Lions discovered their destructive batting power.
The season finished on a high, with our Under 8s competing valiantly in two Under 9s tournaments, showing just how far the group has come.
Beyond the wickets, runs and results, it was the Lions’ attitude, teamwork and enthusiasm that truly stood out. New friendships have been made, confidence has grown, and there’s plenty of excitement about what next season will bring.
This is junior cricket at Grayshott at its best, learning together, supporting each other and, above all, having fun.
We can’t wait to see our Lions back out there next season! 🏏💚
