U14 Foxes celebrate a season of progress, team spirit and memorable moments
The 2026 season has been a rewarding one for Grayshott’s U14 Foxes, with a smaller squad helping to create a close-knit team where players encouraged one another, celebrated each other’s achievements and grew together throughout the summer.
Led by Helen, the Foxes enjoyed some comprehensive victories, while also pushing teams that had beaten them convincingly in previous seasons much closer. The results reflected the progress made by the group and the hard work that has gone into developing the players over recent years.
There were plenty of individual highlights along the way. Noah taking a number of important wickets, Stan producing a memorable moment in the field with a spectacular one-handed diving catch at slip, while new squad members Rufus and Ivo settled in so naturally that it felt as though they had always been part of the team.
Some of the season’s best memories, however, came away from match day. One particularly memorable training session coincided with an England World Cup match, with the radio providing updates from the nets. When England scored late on, the excitement proved too much to contain, and the players were soon jumping around the nets in celebration!
That sense of shared enjoyment is central to how the Foxes operate.
The team is run with an emphasis on recognising every achievement and supporting each player’s development, whatever their experience or role in the squad. One of the greatest rewards has been seeing the players thrive, grow in confidence and begin to reap the benefits of the hard work put in over the last few years.
With a strong team spirit and continued progress across the squad, the U14 Foxes have plenty to be proud of as they look ahead to the next season.
