The Grayshott Women’s Softball Cricket team bid a fond farewell to the 2024 season, with their first Festival to celebrate the 2024 season and all things cricket. Despite the deluge of rain in the lead up, and with last-minute change in format needed, the festival went ahead at the Club’s Broxhead ground.
The Chargers and Strikers stepped out for the last time this season for an interclub festival match. In true festival spirit, the rules were adapted and some jeopardy added by the umpires – who knew you could get extra runs for ‘great sledging!’. On the day, the Strikers were victorious. Each team also nominate their MVP from the opposition – with Marija and Lou the winners, congrats!
Following the cricket, over 50 players, friends and family members enjoyed a bbq, two more matches with partners and kids joining in, delicious home made cakes and a rather large bottle of Rose wine generously given to the Women’s squad by Club President Phil Coleshill. A fantastic way to end the season!
