AGM & Looking Ahead to 2026

Grayshott Cricket Club held its AGM on 6th February, with good attendance and a clear focus on continued development both on and off the pitch - and a music bingo quiz & pizza to follow!


Committee Elected


We are pleased to confirm the election of our 2026 Management Committee, led by new Co-Chairs Mark le Mare and Andy Stocks.


Key roles include:

  • Assistant Treasurer: Dave Churchill

  • Men’s Club Captain: Toby Joyce

  • Women’s Club Captain: Al Grant

  • Girls Coordinator: Antonia Bird

  • Boys Coordinator: Graham Sampson

  • Social Secretary: Rebecca Edwards

  • Safeguarding Officers: Tona Cavanagh & Nikki Weekes

  • Grounds Manager and Sports Field Rep: Mark Morris

  • Parents of Youth Players Rep: Helen Foulds

  • Co-opted Member: Craig Decker


Our Trustees remain Mark le Mare, Andy Stocks, Phil Coleshill, Helen Foulds, Mike Curry, Al Grant and Toby Joyce.


Honouring Service and Community at the AGM


A new Vice President, Chris Grimes, was welcomed in recognition of his significant contribution to local sport, particularly through Sport Haslemere.


We also paused to remember Brian Spencer, a much-loved Vice President whose contribution to the club over many years will never be forgotten.

Charity Fundraising Success


We were thrilled to present Susan Jordan from our 2025 charity, The Fountain Centre, with a cheque on behalf of the club and our fundraising efforts.

Women’s Cricket:

  • Al Grant – Raiders (I’Anson Hardball)

  • Charlie Black – Chargers (I’Anson Softball)

  • Stormers – Sophie Weekes (Hants Tier 4 Hardball)

  • Brittoni Farrer-Williams - Strikers (I’Anson Softball)


Men’s Cricket

  • Aaron Avery & Ali Wheble: 1st XI

  • Stuart Kennedy & Andy Wheble: 2nd XI

  • Mark Weekes & Allan Jones: 3rd XI –

  • Aaron Avery & Jamie House: Sunday League

  • John Lee: Saturday Friendlies

  • Andy Wheble: Stevens Cup

  • Aaron Avery: Surrey Slam

The club will also enter the Village Cup in 2026.


Plans for 2026


The Club Development Plan focuses on:

  • Installing covers at Grayshott

  • Securing funding to the Broxhead pavilion , improving facilities for all users, with a focus on women and girls

  • Introduction of Walking Cricket

  • Continued growth of girls’ and women’s cricket, including strengthening the transition from softball to hardball

  • Attracting new players across men’s and women’s sections

  • Increasing member involvement in running the club

  • Strengthening the club’s social offering

  • Celebrating our 130 year anniversary in style at the Gala Evening on 26th September at Lythe Hill.


Thanks and Leadership Transition


A heartfelt thank you was given to all committee members and volunteers for their commitment to keeping the club moving forward.


As the outgoing Chair, Duncan Willows stepped down, thanks were expressed from President Phil Coleshill on behalf of the Club, for his dedication and hard work over his tenure.

Duncan will continued to support the Club through recruitment and disability cricket development.
