There was plenty of laughter, friendly competition and fresh air at Broxhead Common today as the second session of our new Walking Cricket got underway.
Designed to make cricket more accessible and inclusive, Walking Cricket is ideal for anyone looking to stay active, meet new people and enjoy the game at a gentler pace. While particularly suited to over-55s, sessions are open to men and women of all ages and abilities, including those returning to cricket after many years away from the game.
Sessions take place every Thursday from 1pm to 2.30pm at the our picturesque Broxhead Common ground in Lindford, a venue that has become an important part of the club’s growth in recent years.
The emphasis is firmly on enjoyment, gentle exercise and social connection. No experience is necessary, the first session is completely free, and all equipment is provided - just come in comfortable clothing and trainers.
The early sessions have already created a fantastic community atmosphere, with new and familiar faces coming together to enjoy cricket in a relaxed and welcoming environment.
Walking Cricket is part of the Club's continued commitment to growing inclusive cricket opportunities across the local community, alongside its thriving All Stars & Dynamos, junior, men's, women’s and disability cricket programmes.
New players are always welcome in all our sections!
