Day 4 of the Shotts North Cornwall Tour was a myriad of activities with golf, putting, bowls, swimming and some sight seeing before the tour party set off to St Minver near Wadebridge, a first for the Shotts.
A pretty ground in a fairly remote setting with the pavilion boasting some recent refurbishment and a chef to feed the tourists. Skipper for the evening was Graeme Aggar who, as tradition has it, batted first. The Shotts lost early wickets but the skipper and Andy Wheble steadied the innings with Wheble finishing on an unbeaten half century as the Shotts reached 144 off their 20 overs.
St Minver looked set to reach the total set until an outstanding one handed catch running on along the boundary line from Toby Joyce brought about a sudden flow of wickets with the Shotts winning by 13 runs.
An enjoyable game followed by some great food and the skipper winning a ‘down the pint challenge’ before the Tour party returned to Bude as reportedly the night club opened at 2330…..
