The Strikers were in action at the weekend hosting Fernhurst Flames in the I’anson Women’s Softball Group A league. Fernhurst won the toss and elected to field.

The Strikers went into bat and quickly realised the Fernhurst bowling was going to prove tricky! Despite a valiant effort and a lovely display of some ‘tip and run’ shots recently introduced in coaching, the team finished on a net score of 230, having lost 9 wickets.

After a brief break and freeze pop to cool everyone down, Fernhurst went into bat. The Strikers worked hard in the field and bowled well to limit their runs. Fernhurst batted consistently and took 17 boundaries, losing 4 wickets.

Fernhurst finished on a net score of 325 to win the match and take 15pts.

Strikers’ player of the match was Cat for her utter determination not to let any boundaries get past her, despite the cost to her knees!

It was a fantastic afternoon of cricket played with a group of amazing, like minded women.
