Our U13s played their first indoor cricket match against Portsmouth and Southsea at Fareham leisure centre on Sunday afternoon. The boys won the toss and decided to bat. A really competitive score of 167 was set with Louis (27), Finlay (23), William (23) and James(22) all retiring.

Some really athletic and energetic fielding saw the boys take three run outs. William took 2 for 16  and Louis took 1 for 30. Finlay had to be on top of his wicket keeping to stop the ball from hitting the back wall as runs are awarded to the batting team if this happens. He took a great diving catch as the ball bounced off two walls. All this kept Portsmouth and Southsea to 119 all out.

A new experience for everyone and one that was really enjoyed. Andy Paye  took on the scoring which was fast paced and we had to umpire at square leg which quite frankly was scary. Lots to learn and take forward.

Great start boys.
