It is with great sadness that we report that Reg Coombes who was our oldest living player at 104, has sadly passed away.
Reg is pictured here with Paul Roberts after reaching his century in 2013, receiving a framed picture of Reg in the Grayshott 1931 Miller Cup Winning side.
Reg was not only part of the Grayshott 1931 Miller Cup Winning side, but was a regular scorer of runs in the days when the pitches were not to good. In 1937, Reg amassed 386 runs and in 1938 he scored a century of 108 against Churt.
Reg’s brother Len, also played for the Shotts and was a strong bowler picking up 7 for 20 against the Bourne in 1930. The ball is still on display in the Pavilion along with plenty of other I’Anson League mementos.
