      Supporting a Charity

Macmillan Cancer Support Macmillan Cancer Support

In recent years the Club has lost loved ones through cancer as well as several families connected with the club being touched by the same illness. Macmillan Cancer Support improves the lives of people affected by cancer.

One in three of us will get cancer and are all affected by cancer.

At the Club's 2009 Annual General Meeting the committee proposed that the Club support the Macmillan Charity and donate funds from the Club’s social events to support this Charity. Shirley Bates, Manager of the Macmillan Cancer Support shop in the village was delighted that the Club had opted to support their charity.

Shirley Bates receives a cheque at our 2009 Dinner Dance for £1420 from Ken Williams on behalf of Grayshott Cricket Club.

This has meant that the club through a variety of events throughout the year has raised £2,000 in aid of the Macmillan Cancer support. Many thanks to everyone who contributed and supported our events.
