A very comprehensive victory for the U15 Foxes thanks to a very professional run chase against Fareham & Crofton. Ali duly the lost the toss and Fareham were quick to bat. Grayshott were 1 light for the first 15 overs which allowed Fareham to get off to a quick start.

Habib and Thomas built a useful opening stand against Guy and Billy. Guy bowled 3 very tight overs including 2 maidens whilst Billy took a little longer to get into his stride. Habib retired for 40 including 6 fours and a six.

Ben and Ali Roberts playing in his last game for the U15’s before moving to Singapore were next to bowl. Ali made the breakthrough bowling the new batter before Hayden was introduced. Hayden ripped through the middle order with 2 wickets in his first over and another in his second.

Fareham were looking good at 85-4 when Grayshott were back up to full strength and were set to post a decent total but Ben returned to take a wicket and Hayden picked up his fourth. Scott bowled a maiden in the last over and Fareham limped to 104-6 in 20 overs. Hayden ending with 4-21 from 4 overs. Refreshments were taken courtesy of Anne-Marie and Grayshott padded up.

Billy and Ali W opened up against the tall Fareham team and played very well. The pair ticked the score along whilst extras mounted up. Ali played some delicious drives and with a fast outfield picked up some boundaries. Billy put the bad ball away without risk and the pair raced to 66-0 off the first 10 overs.

Fareham rotated their attack but none of them were able to make a breakthrough. Ali hit a huge six before retiring and Billy pushed on to 35 not out before Guy hit the winning boundary.

Grayshott won in 15 overs without losing a wicket taking them back to 2nd in the league.

Thanks to Anne-Marie for refreshments and Anita for scoring so well. Apologies to those boys who didn’t get a bat or bowl. Huge thanks to Sri for taking the game and umpiring and helping me out at short notice.

Finally a farewell to Alistair Roberts. Ali has been a Grayshott player for 5 years and helped the team win several league titles with his clever left arm spin. A really good cricketer but more importantly a really charming young man. We wish you and your family well in Singapore and hope you will visit us when you are back in the UK.
