It ws another heavy defeat for the 3s against a strong Kingsley 1st XI. The Shotts won the toss and took to the field after a heavy shower. The players were soon back in the pavilion as another heavy shower landed, losing just two overs.
Kingsley started positively punishing any short ball finding the boundary on each occasion. Openers Brayshaw Jnr and Jones soon found their length with Brayshaw being rewarded with the vaulable wicket of Parrott. This brought Cooper M (57) to the crease who took a liking to the Grayshott bowling supported well by Cooper O (45) and Randall (60 no). Brayshaw Snr 2-17 off his 5 overs was the pick of the Grayshott bowlers, but the Shotts conceded 100 runs in the last 10 overs making it another tough chase as Kingsley finished on 254-5.
After an excellent Weekes Snr tea, any hopes the Shotts had of getting close to the total were soon gone as they fell to 17-4. Sampson Snr (52 no) and Brayshaw Snr (26) with a 67 run partnership looked comfortable at the crease despite accurate bowling before Brayshaw was adjudged LBW. Sampson Snr remained unbeaten running out of partners as the Shotts were bowled out for 101.
Oli Cooper with seven wickets was the pick of the Kingsley bowlers.
