After not playing the previous week due to the rain, Grayshott were back at home against Elstead. Both teams turned up hopefully of a game, although a start to the match was looking very unlikely due to the annoying drizzle of rain.
Fifteen minutes late the game got underway with both openers doing a great job seeing off some very good bowling in trying conditions. Rob Ward was the first wicket to go after driving well on a number of occasions, he was caught at mid on, for a well battled 17. McBain came in for a quick 10 before a ball moved away from him and he was caught at second slip. Ward jnr was also back in the pavilion soon after without troubling the scorers. Ali Wheble 17n.o and Rav Sriharan 5n.o saw the team to drinks when the inevitable happened and the rain set in and the match was abandoned. Ali once again showing a mature head and showing everyone else how to tough it out in tricky conditions.
A bye in the next game sees the 2nd XI miss three in a row, then it's at home again verses Tongham.
