Grayshott arrived at Elstead full of confidence after the previous weeks win at Frensham. Basked in April sunshine, skipper Sampson, called tails, won the toss, and put the home side into bat.
The Elstead openers raced away in the early overs, punishing anything loose from Gregory (9-0-26-0) and J. Moseley (9-2-43-0).
The introduction of Sriharan (8-0-37-1) and Ward (9-0-34-3) made inroads, dismissing the threatening Sheppard for 27. As the innings developed, Baker (9-0-25-4) restricted Elstead with some classical bowling. The hosts posted a competitive total of 180-9 off their 45.
In reply, Grayshott started slowly reaching 50-4 off 25 overs. Cameos from Clarke (18), McBain (17) and Sampson (24) gave the Shotts hope, but in the 39th over fell short at a total of 140.
Badshot Lea at home next week.
