Fun based Coaching Sessions for Women’s Softball start in 2020, on a Tuesday night starting at 6.45pm . The first session is Tuesday 21st April. They will take place at the Sportsfield in Grayshott and will run for a period of 13 weeks
They will led by a fully qualified female ECB Coach Francesca Haywood pictured here who talks passionately about Women’s Cricket.
“Women’s cricket is the biggest up and coming sport in the country so now is the best time to give it a go. Having a younger brother meant I have been around cricket for a long time but I never thought about playing myself until I attended university and instantly sparked a love for the game. I set up my universities first ever ladies team which, in only their second season won the league to be promoted to the highest division for our sport.
This team was made up of players who had never played before coupled with those who have. Watching these girls grow as a team and seeing those improve over the years was a fantastic feeling.
In the summer of 2018 I became an All Star Activator at a local club and helped to coach youngsters for their first experience of cricket. I wanted to expand my knowledge of coaching and embarked on a level 2 coaching course in February of 2019. This allowed me to play a more active role in the coaching of my university team and the under 9’s team at my local club.
Women’s cricket is something I am very passionate about as I feel it is a sport we can all play and enjoy.
Cricket is a game for all, whether you have no knowledge of the game or have seen you child participating. We want you to be a part of the Grayshott CC Women’s Softball team. All equipment will be provided, we just need you and a give it a go attitude……”
