Clubmark
Achieving Clubmark
The Club is delighted to announce that it has achieved its Clubmark re-accreditation in June 2008 and has received the following communication from Greig Stewart Club Development Officer at the Rose Bowl:
"The site visit on Saturday went really well. I was impressed with the structure and content of the training sessions and was pleased to see a junior match being played on a Saturday morning. There was a really good feeling about the club and the feedback from parents was excellent.
Grayshott has become one of the premier clubs in the county and it is no surprise that you are the first club in Hampshire to achieve Clubmark Re-accreditation.
My thanks go to the committee and the coaches for their contribution to the development of cricket in Hampshire."
Clubmark accreditation has to be renewed every three years and like many things in life the expectations and standards have increased and Grayshott has achieved them.
What is Clubmark?
Sport England's Clubmark is a cross sport accreditation for sports clubs with junior sections in recognition of a quality club.
Why Clubmark?
Nearly half of all children and young people are members of sports clubs outside school and it is very important that these clubs serve young people well. Until recently there were few guidelines and little support available to most clubs to develop and assess themselves. Clubmark sets core and common criteria for sports clubs to meet in the following categories:
CHILD PROTECTION ,
COACHING AND COMPETITION, SPORTS EQUITY AND ETHICS &
CLUB MANAGEMENT
Benefits to Clubs
We will receive support from sports development professionals and improve the quality of coaches in the club so that our club can be even more successful and competitive. We will be better organised and resourced as a club and able to further develop.
In short we have proved that GCC are recognised as a safe, effective child friendly club with a vibrant and healthy infrastructure.
