Ask any of our coaches and the great satisfaction they derive in seeing the progress young cricketers make.  You donr need to be a cricketer to be a coach, just lots of enthusiasm. You will be part of a group with plenty of online support and from within the club. Come and join our coaching team today. There are a variety of courses available that the club will fund your attendance which generically fall into three categories at present;

Coach Support Worker

The first formal step on the coaching ladder, enabling you to assist our fully qualified coaches. These role are critical in the running of our coaching sessions. They support the lead coach and allow children to be split into smaller groups offering more opportunities to practise skills

These roles are ideal for parents wishing to be involved with the children in enjoying the game.

In terms of time commitment, approx. 12 hours in the winter months and approx. 18 hours in the summer months.

Foundation 1 Coach

This programme has been designed to give volunteers the knowledge, skills and confidence to coach cricket sessions that are active, purposeful, enjoyable and safe. An ECB Foundation I Coach will be qualified to lead coaching sessions independently and without supervision.It is now the entry level qualification required to coach cricket.

In terms of time commitment, approx. 12 hours in the winter months and approx. 18 hours in the summer months.

A prequisite for this course is a valid DBS and Safeguarding certificate which can be acquired online. The club also encourages attendance at a local first aid course which the club will help you find.

Certificate in Coaching  (UKCC2)

This course is designed to help to develop your confidence and equip you with the knowledge, understanding and applied skills to lead coaching sessions for children and create safe, fun, player-centred coaching environments. This is currently the next step on from the Foundation 1 course

In terms of time commitment, approx. 12 hours in the winter months and approx. 18 hours in the summer months

A prequisite for this course is a valid DBS and Safeguarding certificate which can be acquired online. A basic first aid certificate is required, which the club will help you find.
